Furnishing cloths are the result of years of research spent examining Jacquard and draw-loom weaving in relation to shaft weaving, culminating in an artsACT 1 year Creative Fellowship to consolidate into artistic outcomes. The woven image capabilities on a shaft loom were maximised in scale and scope by employing lampas structure. Woven in wool and silk threads the robust cloth contains strong graphic tonal qualities inspired by the structures and patterns of small native flora cones.
